Blending Spanish roots with Bossa Nova, jazz, and pop music

Aldo Hidalgo, a native of Guadalajara, Mexico, began studying classical guitar at age 13 before expanding into jazz improvisation and modern harmony. He earned a degree in Composition from the University of Guadalajara. For over 20 years, he performed with Los Piccolos as a staff musician for the Hilton Hotel chain and appeared on Televisa’s Noche a Noche, accompanying guest artists. Now based in Sacramento, he performs as a solo artist, delivering versatile sets that range from instrumental guitar to vocal/guitar to full-band performances, and he also leads his own mariachi band.
